I Am Finally Fluent in Hiligaynon!

Image
So, ever since my last attempt at blogging, I have been pondering on what to do for my next one. Sometimes, I wish I had a good working camera because spilling my thoughts out would be much easier if I could actually talk and talk in some videos of my own. For now, though, this will not be feasible, so I will have to stick with writing blogs.           Not that I oppose it or anything. I love to write, and I would rather do this than most other things, if I’ll have to be quite honest.           Thinking of what to do and what to write about was my biggest dilemma for the past few days. I mean, what am I going to write? I had ideas for a movie review, a book review, this and that, but I had to research a lot about how to do these first, not to mention the research I would also have to do, about the media material in question. My main goal for now was to get something out, and soon. I had ...

After a Trillion Years, I Am Starting My Blog Again...

Image
(This is not even a recent photo, think: three months ago.)           I will be quite honest, it also took me a trillion years to come up with this title.  As it suggests, yes! After a trillion, maybe a gazillion years, I am finally reopening my blog.            I know that I write this a lot . In fact, I have probably written and posted "I am starting my blog again!" about five times over in my life now, across three different blogs I have attempted running since 2014, starting around the time my high school Journalism teacher made regular blogging a class requirement. I know, I should have listened! By then, if I had maybe just followed the blog post regimen that he had suggested to all 45 of us in that classroom that fateful day, this would not be a problem. I probably would have written hundreds upon hundreds of blog posts by now, about anything and everything. Blogging was something I particularly enjoyed ...

IT is an Option! -- my foray into careers

Image
Hello, everyone!  My gosh, it has been a hectic couple of months, but here I am again! I swear I will pick this up during our semestral break -- just as soon as I complete everything in store for me at the moment. Anyways, moving on. Today's topic is careers in IT, and.... honestly, I do not know what exactly to say, because I have never actually considered an IT career. cue boos for Juli :(( So, what can be considered as an IT career? It is certainly not just the typical computer fixer, or the keyboard-savvy programmer, or the super cool developer you see on TV. According to ITology, anyone can start an IT career, regardless of skill or experience. One basically just has to have the passion for it! There are even sales representatives in IT, and that is considered an actual IT career. If you did not know that beforehand, well, now you know. Seriously. Google works wonders for the brain. If I were to consider an IT career, I would most likely pursue graphic...

This Whole Place Is Electronically POLLUTED....

...even your computer.     Hey, everyone! Wow, my schedule has been so hectic lately. Hope you guys are doing great, especially with online classes taking up a lot of our time--and brain cells.     At least you are not throwing old computers away.     Do not worry! I will get to the point. Later. I swear!     Anyways, I have like twenty minutes to write this thing, so if I can get this down in five, that will be aaaaall better. Now, why is time so relevant here? It is simple. A couple of decades ago, maybe five, the world was not really into computers much.     Well, do not get me wrong! I am pretty  sure scientists and engineers were already fiddling with computers back in the day. In fact, they were SO big, engineers were using up their brain cells trying to figure out how to make computers smaller. Ahhhhh, those were the days.  During those days, since not everyone had access to a computer, there were not a lot of bro...

STUDY DIARIES: I Am So NOT Used To This.

Image
I am... really not used to this.      Hey, everyone. I guess there should be a reason why I am posting at such an ungodly hour as this. I have been thinking about doing something like this for a while now, and I never really had the initiative to. Nonetheless, here it is!      " Juli's Study Diaries ", ba dum tss.     So, what is the significance of the study? Just kidding. I will mostly just talk about my experience of studying, especially right now that this COVID-19 crisis is still ongoing. Sometimes I cannot believe this has been going on for as long as it is, but then again I think of how some people wear their face shields like crowns, and I am no longer surprised.     Seriously, guys. Please wear your masks and face shields properly. Wash your hands. If you can, please STAY AT HOME!     Anyways, that was today's public service announcement. Now, moving on to our main topic.     I am really not used to this who...

MY FIRST TIME—but it is NOT what you think.

Image
My first? First what ? I do NOT know what you are thinking. Well, you got me. I was trying to play up a joke there, but I guess the spectrum of “firsts” are wider than I thought, and does not leave much room for joking around. Maybe next time. So for my first formal, for-class post, I will share my first experience with a computer. I would say that it is easy, but you know... It is not so easy when you realize you have been using computers your whole life.  And I mean, my WHOLE life. I would not say I am clueless of my first experience with a computer, because I do remember hours of playing retro PC games on my uncle’s Windows 97, with that big fat monitor we all used to have back in the day. Perhaps even my first foray with digital art, creating lord knows what sorts of shapes on MS Paint, and telling my mum they were “baby rabbits” when they looked like clouds. Ah, those were the good old days. If we are talking about computers on a, well, “ a computer can be...
